Course description Students will have opportunities to observe and learn from other health and social care professionals and appreciate the contributions of others to individual and community health. After choosing a field of particular interest, each student will study team working over an extended period of time. The SSC will support the core curriculum and also allow students to have greater control over their own learning. This approach should motivate students and develop self-directed learning skills.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The SSC will aim to increase students' understanding of a multi disciplinary team - individuals' roles, expertise and value in patient care or public health provision by demonstrating the skills and strategies used by these teams. The student will be able to observe, analyse, and record the dynamics and relationships of the team. This experience will demonstrate and emphasise the skills and attitudes they need to be an effective member of a multi-professional team.
Assessment Information
At the end of the project, each student has to submit a diary and a report. Assessment will be by grading as fail/pass/excellent and feedback comments will be provided.
