Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course, the students should be able to
1. Choose between appropriate 3D modelling methods for different classes of application.
2. Be able to write pseudocode versions of basic solid (BRep) and surface (NURBS) modellers.
3. Discuss some of the most common geometric algorithms in current use in the context of their engineering applications
4. Model typical engineering assemblies in 3D
5. Model complex surfaces
6. Perform engineering analysis using the finite element method on modelled components
7. Generate NC code to facilitate the manufacture of designed components
