Course description |
A survey of the main historical, technical and cultural developments in Western music since the end of the Second World War, including case studies of significant musical texts. |

Pre-requisites |
Visiting students should have at least three Music courses at grade B or above (or be predicted to obtain this). We will only consider University/College level courses.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
- Use of primary and secondary texts in musicology.
- Knowledge of the principal musical, intellectual and cultural trends in the period.
- Practical engagement with musical texts in the form of performance, analysis and criticism. |
Assessment Information
Presentation (20%) essay c.3,000 words (40%) and one 2-hour examination (40%). |
