Course description |
A survey of the main historical, technical and cultural developments in Western music from 1980 to the present day, including case studies of significant musical texts. |
Information for Visiting Students
Pre-requisites |
Visiting students should have at least three Music courses at grade B or above (or be predicted to obtain this). We will only consider University/College level courses.

Course Delivery Information
Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
- Use of primary and secondary texts in musicology.
- Knowledge of the principal musical, intellectual and cultural trends in the period.
- Practical engagement with musical texts in the form of performance, analysis and criticism. |
Assessment Information
Two essays c.3,000 words each (40% each). One presentation (20%).
Visiting Student Variant Assessment
Presentation (10%), two coursework submissions (45% each). |
