Course description This course is essentially a series of discussions based on the realities of health care. We will draw on published cases and the experiences of the group in order to discuss the moral aspects of health care. In doing this we will be concerned with the nature of ethical debate and its place within health care practice and planning.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
To introduce the main approaches to ethical debate.
To provide an overview of moral debate in health care.
To afford the opportunity to discuss ethical issues encountered in health care in the context of moral philosophy.
To debate ethical issues of relevance to nursing and health care professionals.
