Course description The MSc in Advancing Nursing Practice Dissertation (extended) can take the form of an emperical piece of nursing research or a proposal for a research project. It should consist of an extended review of relevant literature and demonstrate extensive theoretical grounding.

Pre-requisites It is RECOMMENDED that students have passed Research Methods (REDU11016) AND Professional and Personal Development (NUST11059) AND Research Methods (AREA11020) AND Dissertation (HIST10070)

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The objectives of the dissertation are to give the student an opportunity to undertake extensive study in a particular topic and to formulate a reasoned research approach on the basis of a critical appraisal of existing theory and knowledge.
Assessment Information
The dissertation should be 20,000 - 25,000 words in length.
