Course description This course will examine topics in Hume's philosophy. Topics examined are likely to include Hume's method, causation, moral theory, aesthetic theory, and theory of the external world. The course will examine both Hume's texts, and contempory critical responses to Hume.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course students will be familiar with the major themes of Hume's philosophy, and contemporary critical responses to Hume.

The course also aims to develop students' general philosophical skills, in particular those required to understand and interpret an historical text.
Assessment Information
