Course description |
This course will discuss a number of issues in the philosophy of law, among which may be any of the following. Must a putative law be morally good, or in conformity to 'natural law', for it to qualify as valid law? To what extent do judges have discretion in deciding cases? Should the law be used to enforce the moral views of the majority of society? What are legal rights and how, if at all, are they related to natural rights?
