Course description |
An introduction to the philosophy of action. This course will introduce students to the central issues in the philosophy of action, including the nature of actions, Davidson's causal theory of action and its critics, trying, agency, intention, our knowledge of actions, and the connection between perception and action.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course, students will:
- understand the central issues in the philosophy of action
- be able to present and defend arguments for and against the causal theory of action
- understand the relation between reasons and actions
- be able to describe the role of intentions in action
- have improved their analytic skills in philosophy
- have developed their ability to analyse and present a philosophical argument |
