| Course description |
This subject provides students with the opportunity to engage with the most recent theoretical and empirical trends in geography . It is taught through seminar sessions that are responsive to the research interests of participating students and allows specific specialisation in an area. It provides advanced knowledge of a specialist research field prior to the commencement of postgraduate dissertation research. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
- In-depth knowledge of a recent intellectual debate in the field of Geography and related spatial and environmental sciences
- Ability to research a specific field, with view to providing an intellectual historiography of that field
- Ability to read critically and to synthesise ideas from a range of sources
- Ability to synthesise and critically analyse a range of debates, in written and verbal form
