Course description |
Selected readings (in Arabic) and interpretation of texts from the Qur'an, Qur'anic exegesis (tafsir), and Hadith. |

Pre-requisites |
Religion 2A and Religion 2B or by permission of the Course Manager. In addition, successful completion of 80 or more credits in Arabic-based undergraduate courses (typically Arabic 1 and Arabic 2) are required. |

Course Delivery Information
Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will have developed basic competency to read and interpret the foundational texts of Islamic religious literature. |
Assessment Information
Weekly preparation (translation) of assigned texts - 20%;
Participation in class - 20%;
Final exam, based on texts studied in class - 60%. |
