Course description Over the course of the MSc, students will carry out a small scale research study and provide a written report on the study of 5000 words.

The small scale research study consists of an empirical research project. Students will be required to design, implement and fully evaluate an empirical research design in their area of applied psychology. This includes the recruitment of a sufficient number of suitable research subjects and the process of gaining approval from a local ethics committee for the study. The execution and evaluation of this empirical study will be written up in a small scale resarch report.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will be competent in:-
1) Accessing conceptual and empirical background for a viable empirical study.
2) Developing and implementing an empirical design.
3) Recruiting and enlisting suitable research subjects in the study.
4) Analysis and evaluating the empirical material in line with the research questions and hypotheses addressed in the study.
5) Delivering a written report of their research.
