Course description The aim of this course is to introduce students to current debates in therapeutic studies. The precise focus will vary from year to year but we expect to include such themes as: the influence of the person-centred approach and psychodynamic perspectives on the management of counselling provision; connections between music therapy and counselling; and the relation ship between inner and outer "landscapes".

- critically assess and synthesise research and scholarship on specific themes in therapeutic studies
- identify and conceptualise debates in therapeutic studies
- understand the relevance of themes in therapeutic studies for the practice, provision and training of counselling and psychotherapy
- formulate questions for theory and practice on specific topics of debate in counselling and psychotherapy
