Course description This course in spoken and written French is designed for students who have some knowledge of French (approximately Standard Grade/GCSE level) and who wish to extend it. All students take all elements of assessment including the degree examination (2 hours).

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Improved competence in the four main skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing French. This greater competence is intended to lead to greater confidence and to enhance the ability to learn independently.

Regular coursework including class tests and oral assignments.
Coursework 55%; exam 45%.
