Course description This course aims to demonstrate a significant awareness of the complex issues surrounding the role of painting in relation to contemporary art practice.

To integrate a personal language within a structured and mature approach to production of art in a public context.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
On completion of this element, the student is expected to:

1. Articulate relevant key concepts and issues in current art practice.

2. Originate work that proposes a developed personal language from concept to realisation.

3. Critically analyse the strategies for public presentation which best communicate a personal visual language.

4. Determine complex solutions in regard to risk, innovation and creativity within personal practice.
Assessment Information
Mid-session review and end of year assessment by presentation of work for degree examination.
