Course description |
This course aims to provide you with some basic research skills essential for all postgraduate work, such as obtaining research materials through bibliographic databases, writing an academic essay, and referencing appropriately. These sessions, as well as preparation sessions for the dissertation, are delivered to students on the MSc in English Language and the MSc in Applied Linguistics. The second half of the course consists of a specialised set of research methods workshops for each MSc (quantitative and qualitative sociolinguistics for the MScAL, and corpus linguistics and dialectology for the MScEL). |
