  • Notes: Entry to year 3 normally requires a pass at 50% or above at the first attempt in English Literature 2 or Scottish Literature 2,or American Literature 2. Entry into Honours normally requires (i) passes in all six subjects taken in the first two years, and (ii) a mark of 50% or above at the first attempt in the second year of the relevant Modern European Language.

    At least 30 weeks spent in the relevant country and prescribed work in English or Scottish Literature and the relevant language in an approved establishment.

  • Notes: Final Assessment: One unit of assessment is allocated to every 20 credits and constitutes one 20-credit paper. The following are the twelve 20-credit papers on which the classification of the degree is based. (Papers that for the purposes of degree classification acquire a weighting of 40 credits are, therefore, listed twice.). 1. (Scandinavian Studies 4 Honours Paper 1). 2. (Scandinavian Studies 4 Honours Paper 1). 3. (Scandinavian Studies 4 Honours Paper 2). 4. (Scandinavian Studies Oral). 5. (Long Essay for English or Scottish Literature). 6. (Long Essay for English or Scottish Literature). 7. (MEL Dissertation Preparation OR MEL Year Abroad Assessment (same mark as 8)). 8. (MEL Dissertation Completion OR MEL Long Essay). 9.
