    Notes: No Previous knowledge of Portuguese in necessary; a pass in a modern foreign language or a classical language at SCE Higher grade or equivalent evidence of linguistic proficiency in normally required.
    Politics and Institutions of Contemporary France is only available to students who have passed French 1A or French 1B.
    Scandinavian Historical and Cultural Topics 2 is available to students who have taken a Scandinavian Studies language in year one.

    Year 3, Academic year 2010/11, Starting month: August

  • Notes: Entry to Honours normally requires a pass at 50% or above at the first attempt in the second year of the relevant Modern European Language and, at the first attempt, in either English Language 2 or a pass, at the first attempt, in Linguistics 2A and Linguistics 2B, with an average mark across the Linguistics courses of 50% or above.

    At least 30 weeks spent in a relevant country and prescribed work in Linguistics and the relevant language.
