A comprehensive design project starting with analysis & strategic thinking through to master-planning and detailed site design. Proposals originate from a sound understanding of technical issues and involve the potential of landscape engineering to overcome site constraints.

Aims of course
1 an introduction to the technical engineering problems of land reclamation
2 an introduction to master-planning and programmatic design

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. demonstrate through the process of design a basic understanding of ecosystem restoration, using the principles of landscape engineering.
2. demonstrate through the design process a knowledge of a range of technical issues associated with derelict land.
3. develop a creative resolution through design at a range of scales and strategically over time.
