Course descriptionIndicative course content
A series of lectures and field studies to introduce relevant theory and methodologies to research site & context. This program evolves around a study tour to Orkney in collaboration with the Pier Arts Centre. The purpose of the field study is to explore artists / designers critical engagement of landscape through contextual assignments. The study tour challenges student's abilities of improvisation, invention and negotiation of unfamiliar context.

Aims of course
1 To research site and context in order to define project and research opportunities.
2 To enable students to locate their practice with reference to contemporary fields of speculation.
3 To demonstrate critical awareness of ones own and other students work.
