Indicative Module Content

The dissertation; the design project; identifying a research topic; literature review; developing a research proposal; discussion of qualitative and quantitative methods; interviews; analysing quantitative data.

Aims of Module

1. To introduce students to the assumptions and approaches adopted in research
2. To familiarise students with practical issues involved in conducting and completing research in architecture, architectural conservation and urban design

Mode of Delivery

This is a lecture and tutorial based module supplemented by the development of a research proposal.
