Course descriptionThis module offers the opportunity for study in the workplace environment. While the student is undertaking a period of employment a topic is identified in discussion with a member of academic staff and a draft report on the topic is submitted. The Placement Report is a focused study of a particular aspect of architectural practice, or related activity carried out during the Placement then submitted on return. This module normally follows Architectural Design Placement (working learning). Aims - The module will:
1. Provide an opportunity to reflect, appraise, analyse and present knowledge and understanding gained through direct experience of a specific aspect of the architectural profession or related activity; 2. Practice researching and investigating a specific topic bearing on the practice of architecture or a related activity; 3. Articulate and illustrate work experience or related activity in a coherent and professional manner; 4. Invite students to gather information (text and drawings)relating to the practice of architecture or a related activity and to assemble this into a coherent form.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to demonstrate:
1. The ability to propose a subject of study with clear objectives demonstrated through the submission of a summary.

2. 2. The ability to throroughly analyse, reflect and demonstrate familiarity with a chosen topic ensuring references to key texts in the field;

3. 3. The ability to present written work (including drawings and illustrations) that is objective, lucid, clearly expressed and shows a coherent structure and style.
