Course descriptionIndicative course content
This module builds on previously acquired skills in research and reflective practice and encourages students to think in a structured and reflective way about their own studio practice and the research that supports it. Students will undertake a range of tasks that make a bridge between studio- based work and non-studio based research.

Aims of course
1 To foster consideration and understanding of the fundamental interrelationship between studio work and the research and critical thinking undertaken as part of its development.
2 To acquire appropriate skills necessary to articulate and express these ideas in verbal and written form.
3 To develop an understanding of the ways in which approved Studentship activities contribute to this module

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Demonstrate understanding of techniques of non studio based research and how to deploy these to advance studio practice in co-requisite modules.
2. Show competence in presenting research materials to a group and also for assessment, using both verbal and visual presentation methods
3. Demonstrate an understanding of the ways in which Studentship enhances individual learning, specifically within a group.
