Course descriptionStudents will develop knowledge and practice in interdisciplinary construction techniques, drawing on skills which may have been learned in design or sculpture based workshops, to plan and execute a single work or series of related works.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Display a considered approach to research as it underpins individual practice
2. Demonstrate competence and confidence in handling and synthesising mixed media materials to develop individually motivated project(s)
3. Show competence and a considered approach to the selection and presentation of work for assessment at this level

Submission of portfolio containing evidence of research and a selection of resolved works.

Additional Information
Academic description This Course allows students to synthesise skills which may have been derived from design or art backgrounds to create interdisciplinary design or art objects. The interdisciplinary project or projects must be underpinned by thorough research and excellent making skills.
Syllabus Students may choose from practical classes in sculpture or design based disciplines. Group crits and tutorials will support the research and ideas development of projects.
Transferable skills skills in research and development of ideas; self generated project work from initial idea to competion; practical skills in making,measuring,planning and presentation; skills in visualisation and demonstration of thought processes
Reading list A reading list appropriate to the student's project will be developed.
Study Abroad Not entered
Study Pattern Students will undertake 200 hours of study, 50 of which will be Contact hours and 50 Directed study. The remaining 100 hours will allow students to undertake self directed study.
