Course descriptionThe course will build on introductions of postgraduate research given in year 2. Students prepare statements of their research topics in discussion with allocated supervisors. During the workshop all students will present a short 20 min introduction to their dissertation research project.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to formulate a research problem and will be aware of the appropriate methods for dealing with different modes of cultural and social science research. They will be capable of identifying and articulating research projects and present and discuss them with informed audience.
Assessment Information
Students will be asked to formulate a statement of their research topic, including aims and objectives, methods and significance of their research. The presentation should also include a summary of recent research relevant to their topic.
