Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
1) to learn the grammar and vocabulary of Biblical Aramaic;
2) to read all the Aramaic passages in the Bible;
3) to interpret the Aramaic passages in Ezra and Daniel.
Assessment Information
10% for course participation in class (readings, translations)
30% for five bi-weekly quizzes that test (vocabulary, paradigms, translations on seen and unseen passages from Aramaic to English and English to Aramaic)
60% exam. The exam will consist of three sections: a) vocabulary, b) grammar; and c) translation and exegetical comment of set and unseen passages
