Course descriptionThis course will provide students with an understanding of the principles and the functions of General Practice as an independent discipline. The Course will use the RCGP Essence Project as a benchmark for understanding a new approach to general Practice.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this module students will be able to
Distinguish between different concepts of 'profession' and 'professionalism'
Negotiate the Essence of General Practice and understand its transferability in different culture and focal settings
Understand the processes behind quality improvement techniques and implement good practice evidence based systems through audit, significant event analysis and review.
