Pre-requisitesPlease note that you are very unlikely to get a place on an Honours Law course unless you are on a direct exchange with the School of Law (this includes Erasmus law exchange students).

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students should be able to: identify and discuss the main penal sanctions available in Scotland and in England & Wales; explain the workings of these sanctions and analyse their rationales; and summarise research evidence as to these sanctions' effectiveness and effects.
Assessment Information
Assessed essay (100%), of up to 15 pages.
Format of pages must be as follows:
Paper: A4 size, portrait form
Font: Times New Roman
Font size: 12
Margins: All 1 inch (2.54 cm)
Line spacing: 1.5
Footnotes/endnotes font size: 10
Page numbering: All pages should be numbered in the following style: "Page x of y" where x represents the page number and y the total number of pages. Such numbering should appear either at the very top or very bottom of each page.
