Pre-requisites It is RECOMMENDED that students have passed Mathematics for Informatics 1b (MINF08001)

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
1. Derive properties of growth rates and use appropriate notation for basic functions (powers of a variable, logarithms and exponentials).
2. Discuss properties of trigonometric functions (e.g., differentiation and integration) and use them to derive identities.
3. Describe complex numbers and apply them to simple problems.
4. Find the power series expansion of a given function.
5. Solve simple differential equations.
6. Discuss and apply the basic notions of partial differentiation.

Assessment Information
Coursework: 15%; Degree Examination: 85%
