Course descriptionCore second year course for Honours Degree in Applied Mathematics.

The course will consist of a small number of case studies of applications of mathematics in areas such as Science and Industry. Each topic will be discussed in lectures, reading and research will be set to the class and the results discussed.

At the end of the course students will be set a group project topic on which they will produce a report and give a presentation. Assessment will be based on the project and contribution to the class.
Entry Requirements (not applicable to Visiting Students)
Pre-requisites Students MUST have passed: Foundations of Calculus (MATH08005) AND Several Variable Calculus (MATH08006)
Co-requisites Students MUST also take: Linear Algebra (MATH08007) AND Methods of Applied Mathematics (MATH08035)
