To familiarise students with the clinical management of the frailest and most disabled elderly patients, with complex and/or multiple disability.
Assessment Information
There are 2 components to the assessment in general practice - Assessment by Practice Tutor (50%). This will consist of a standardised assessment of the attitudes, skills and knowledge you have displayed while at the practice. - A Patient Study, like (but not) a Portfolio case (50%) Along with General Practice, in-course assessment in Geriatric Medicine will contribute 10 of the 40 marks for in-course assessment in Year 5. Elements of assessment are: Portfolio case report, Knowledge test and Tutor PPD/skills assessment. Work on the clinical attachment will be subject to an evaluation - including a component based on the SCEE methodology - which will be carried out by a senior clinician.
