Course descriptionCreative Music Technology takes the recording and sound processing skills (in PD) already introduced to students in both Sound Recording and Music 2D, and develops these further, within a studio context, to creative ends.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
+ Students will further develop their listening skills
+ Students will be able to make sound recordings in a studio setting and use such material in a creative way
+ Students will gain an understanding of a number of key sound processing techniques (using PD), and be able to develop and use such techniques within the studio
+ Students will be able to mix together and balance several layers of disparate sonic material using a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW)
+ Students will gain a basic understanding of electroacoustic composition techniques
Assessment Information
One piece of coursework (20%); One piece of creative sound work on fixed medium, minimum length 5 minutes, and a supporting report of c.2,000 words (80%)
