Course descriptionThe student will undertake a detailed review of a structural fire safety engineering (or related) topic in parallel with the taught courses in Semester 1 under the supervision of a member of staff. Ideally this would be based upon the the chosen dissertation project (choices made available on the 1st day of the 1st Semester) but this is not mandatory. However, the supervisor for this module will be the same member of staff as the one for the dissertation project. If the topic chosen is based on the dissertation project, this module could serve as an extended ?literature survey?. More specific and self-contained smaller projects could also be undertaken as part of this module depending on the student?s and supervisor?s agreed preference.
