Course descriptionStudents will either suggest their own topic or choose from a selection of topics provided by teaching staff. The topic must be one for which there is either an existing psychological literature or one in which they can use their psychology background to inform them of progress in the topic. Assessment is by means of a 5000 word critical review.

Pre-requisitesVisiting students should have at least 3 Psychology courses at grade B or above (or be predicted to obtain this). We will only consider University/College level courses.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Use of bibliographic databases to identify a core literature to review; to demonstrate an understanding of the importance of different methodologies in research; to critically appraise an area and suggest profitable avenues for future research.

Special Arrangements
Students should collect a Literature Review choice form from the PPLS library, 7 George Square. Choices should be listed in order of preference (from different supervisors) and the form submitted via a box in the same library by 12 noon on Thursday of Week 1 (Semester 1). Please note Ordinary degree students should seek permission from the Course Organiser if they wish to enrol on this course.
