Course descriptionThis course will introduce students to the principles and basic concepts of systematic reviews. Areas to be considered will include the rationale for undertaking a systematic review, an overview of the methods used to conduct systematic reviews, and discussion of their use in healthcare decision making. Delivery of the course will be through lectures, computer labs and discussion groups.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the principles and purpose of systematic reviews, including protocol development, literature searching quality assessments and data synthesis. Students should be able to discuss the role of systematic literature reviews in public health practice and policy making.
