Course descriptionThis course is concerned with the study of operations management in sport and recreation organisations. Students will consider the processes of design, implementation and control of sport and recreation service operations. The course will include examination of performance management techniques and their application to the sport and recreation context. Examination of current practice will be undertaken throughout the course.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Understand the role and nature of operations management in sport and recreation organisations; explain the process of sport and recreation service design; discuss the implications of health and safety law for sport and recreation services delivery; explain how to control service operations; evaluate the appropriateness of identified performance measurement systems to sport and recreation contexts; understand the relationship between human resource management and operational efficiency.
