    Archaeology practical work requirement: all students registered for a single or combined honours degree in Archaeology normally undertake a minimum of three weeks fieldwork approved by the Head of Archaeology during the summer vacation of their first year of study.

  • Notes: Entry to third year normally requires sucessful completion of the first two years of the curriculum with an average mark for Archaeology 2A and Archaeology 2B combined of 50% or higher, and a pass at 50% or above in either Gaelic 2A or gaelic 2B (for Modern honours route) or in Celtic Literature 2A and Celtic Literature 2B (for Medieval honours route).

    Notes:Notes: If the dissertation is taken in Celtic, a 20-credit unit towards the dissertation will be taken in third year, and a 20-credit completion unit in fourth year. Students opting for a Celtic dissertation will therefore be required to take a 20-credit unit towards their dissertation in third year together with option courses in Celtic totalling 40 credits, followed by a 20-credit completion unit in fourth year together with honours options in Celtic totalling 60 credits.
