The course is designed for graduates with little or no prior knowledge of Modern Standard Chinese (Mandarin). Students will be introduced to spoken and written Chinese. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Elementary students will encounter 700-800 vocabulary items and approximately 500 characters. They will be able to conduct basic conversations and to read and write short texts in simplified Chinese characters. |
