Course description |
Close textual study in Japanese will be combined with background reading mainly in English. The majority of the course will consist of tutorials focussing on reading, translation and literary appreciation of the set texts, with some sessions set aside for discussion of other works by the selected authors. There will also be some lectures outlining the background to modern Japanese literature and to the authors studied. |
