Course description The course is designed to give an overview on emerging diseases with specific emphasis on zoonotic Infections. The course will cover Foodborne Zoonotic Diseases, Zoonotic Diseases of Wild Animals, Occupational Zoonosis, Evolutionary Drivers for Emergence of New Zoonotic Diseases, Prevention and Control of Zoonoses: From Science to Policy, evolutionary genomics of multi-drug resistant pathogens from human and animal infections. The course will also cover general Concepts of Public Health especially with respect to &«Farm to Fork&ª Approach, Food Chain Information and traceability.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
To advance knowledge and understanding on emerging infectious diseases, zoonotic infections and their drivers into human populations, how natural and social environments affect the emergence (emergence, re-emergence, and development of drug resistance) and spread of infectious disease between animals and humans, how animal pathogens spill-over into human populations and spread through communities.
And highlight role of inter-disciplinary research in understanding true ecology of infectious disease
