Notes:Although Logic 1 is not a compulsory course it is strongly recommended, particularly for students who think that they might go on to study philosophy at postgraduate level. It is also a prerequisite for some honours-level philosophy courses. If you choose not to take Logic 1 this year you will have the option to take it in your second year. Notes:A dissertation MUST be taken in Final Year in either Philosophy or Sociology. Where the dissertation is taken in Philosophy, students can either do a single long 8000 word dissertation, or two 5000 word essays ( short dissertations). If the two 5000 word essays are selected students should choose two courses from Philosophy Honours Programme Collection, ROU_I_UTPHIECY4_10, as available.
