You can take all 80 credits as non-philosophy courses, or you can take only 40 or 60 credits of non-philosophy courses together with Logic 1 and/or Philosophy of Science 1. Notes:Although Logic 1 is not a compulsory course for single-honours philosophy students it is strongly recommended, particularly for students who think that they might go on to study philosophy at postgraduate level. It is also a prerequisite for some honours-level philosophy courses. If you choose not to take Logic 1 this year you will have the option to take it in your second year. |

Notes:Students must take 20 credits in an Ethics, Epistemology and History Honours course if not taken in 3rd year. AND Overarching rule collection group: B Select exactly 40 credits from these collections: Select exactly 40 credits course level 10, as available PHIL10026 Dissertation in Philosophy (40 credits) Notes:A dissertation MUST be taken in Final Year. Students can either do a single long 8000 word dissertation, or two 5000 word essays ( short dissertations). If the two 5000 word essays are selected students should choose two courses from Philosophy Honours Programme Collection, ROU_I_UTPHIECY4_10, as available. OR Select exactly 40 credits from the following list of courses, as available
Notes:The Philosophy dissertation MUST be taken in Final Year. Students can either do a single long 8000 word dissertation, or two 5000 word essays ( short dissertations). If the two 5000 word essays are selected students should choose two courses from this option that have not been taken in Year 3. |
