| Course description | This course is suitable for students who have successfully completed the Introductory Chinese Language course (ASST07003 or ASST07004) and for learners who have equivalent knowledge of the Chinese language: being familiar with the basic principles of the speaking and writing systems of the Chinese language; having a fair command of about 300 Chinese characters and some basic grammar and sentence structures that are used to express events in the present. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
| On successfully completing the course, the students are expected to have a good command of about 700 Chinese characters in total. They will be familiar with more basic grammar and sentence structures that can be used in every-day conversations and to express events related to the present. |
Assessment Information
The assessment is composed of three parts:
One class exam (100 minutes) in week 6, 30%;
One oral exam (5 minutes) in week 12, 20%;
One degree exam (2 hours), 50%
