Course description | Services are becoming an increasingly important element of the economy of the industrialised, developing and emerging nations within the global economy. Particularly in the transitional nations of Europe and the emergent economies of Pacific Asia, services are leading economic development with such areas as tourism and hospitality and financial services becoming core elements of the economy. The recent recession has made the effective management of this latter sector even more important. Edinburgh itself is also a key market leader in the services field with both its creative industries and financial services being world renowned.
The course builds upon the school's strengths in both public and private services management to offer an elective that is highly attractive to our students, whether they are studying generic management or the development of emerging markets. Not only will it provide students with an opportunity to consider their core modules in a new light, it will also provide students with an insight and expertise in an highly employable sector of the economy across the world. |
