Course descriptionThis course is designed to provide programme participants with a thorough understanding of the management across culture. It responds in particular to the increasing need of future managers seeking to work abroad as international executives. By reviewing the concepts, patterns, behaviours and experiences of cross-cultural issues (e.g., International Human Resource Management, comparative management systems between Europe and Asia, ethical dilemma and corporate social responsibility) and by discussing a range of related cases in the contemporary international business, the course aims to familiarise students with key issues and debates on cross-cultural management. At the end of the course, participants are expected to develop the capacity for dealing with cross-cultural problems and developing reflective applications in practice.
