Course descriptionAll Joint Hons students studying 2 languages and all Joint Hons students studying 1 language and another non-language subject (excluding MEL + EU Studies Curriculum B) who are on Erasmus exchanges, or have arranged to have their credits counted from Latin American universities, are required to return 20 UoE credits of assessed work to DELC (this work will count as ONE Unit of Assessment in the final degree classification) as specified below:

ERASMUS STUDENTS studying abroad for 2 semesters are required to return a total of 30 ECTS (two semesters' worth) for suitable courses at a partner university abroad. Marks for the best 15 ECTS (= 20 UoE credits) will count as one Unit of Assessment in the Final Year.

ERASMUS STUDENTS studying abroad for 1 semester and who are also studying abroad as non-Erasmus students or working abroad for the remainder of the time are required to return a total of 15 ECTS (one semester's worth) for suitable courses at the Erasmus partner university abroad. Marks for the best 15 ECTS (= 20 UoE credits) will count as one Unit of Assessment in the Final Year.

Prohibited Combinations Other requirements Students submitting Erasmus or Latin American marks will also be required to complete a MEL Long Essay (20 UoE credits) in Year 4, which is written in the target language and submitted towards the end of the Final Year.
