Course description | This post-introductory course is normally intended for students who have successfully completed Introductory Spanish (ELCH07001 or ELCH07002) or have reached an equivalent standard (Standard Grade/GCSE). It is not suitable for absolute beginners or students with knowledge of Spanish at Highers/AS-level or above.
There is an identical course (Introductory Spanish Language - ELCH07003) which runs in the first semester.
All students take all elements of assessment, including the examination. |

IMPORTANT: Students must attend pairs of classes choosing ONE of:
GROUP A: Monday and Wednesday, 14:10-16:00
OR
GROUP B: Tuesday and Thursday, 16:10-18:00
OR
GROUP C: Tuesday and Thursday, 14:10-16:00
OR
GROUP D: Tuesday and Thursday, 16:10-18:00
Please note: this course will not appear on students' personalised timetable. Group Sign-up sheets will be available on LEARN after the first class meeting. Groups have a limited quota, if a group reaches capacity, you will need to choose another.
Students joining the course after the first class meeting with timetable restrictions on which group they can join must contact the course secretary before enrolling to confirm availability in the required group.
The first class meeting will be Tuesday 14th January at 17:10 in Seminar room 1/2, Chrystal Macmillan Building.

Following Introductory Spanish, this course will further develop your knowledge of the language in a wide variety of situations using more complex vocabulary and grammar. |

Coursework 50% (Regular written exercises in class and two class tests)
Degree exam 50% (A two-hour written paper)
