Course descriptionThis post-introductory course is normally intended for students who have successfully completed Introductory Russian or have reached an equivalent standard (Standard Grade/GCSE). It is not suitable for absolute beginners or students with knowledge of Russian at Highers/A-level or above.

All students take all elements of assessment, including the examination.

Pre-requisites It is RECOMMENDED that students have passed Introductory Russian Language (ELCR07001)

Prohibited Combinations Other requirements If not taken Introductory Russian: Russian at Standard Grade (SCE)/GCSE or equivalent evidence of proficiency.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Following Introductory Russian, this course will further develop knowledge of the language in a wide variety of situations using more complex vocabulary and grammar. Students will further develop reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in Russian at a post-elementary to an intermediate level.
Assessment Information
Coursework comprising of regular written exercises in class and two assessments worth 40%, and Degree exam at the end of the semester worth 60%.

All students take all elements of assessment, including the examination.
Special Arrangements
This course is open to all students. DELC students may only take this course if it over and above their full credit load, as in a non credit bearing course.
