| Course description | Students will be required to nominate 2 strands from a selection (of at least 4) topics provided. Topics may vary depending on trends in PEM, and student choice, but currently include Dermatology and Allergy, Infectious Diseases, Musculosketal Medicine and Toxicology). Students will submit in-depth work on 2 strands, but can also read and interact on an optional basis within all areas of the course, thereby developing a broader knowledge of PEM. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes 
| At the completion of the course the student should have an in-depth understanding in 2 of the chosesn strand areas.  They should also be aware of the broad issues covered in other strands.  The student will develop their skills in critical appraisal and examination of evidence behind treatment modalities. |  
Assessment Information 
| Formal summative written assessment will constitute 60% of the student's grade.  Online assessment will incorporate a variety of activities and will constitute 40% of their overall course grade and is taken to represent formative assessment of learning throughout the programme. |
