Course description | This course is intended to equip students with the skills required to teach Arabic to non-native speakers using communicative teaching pedagogy. Although it is not a teaching qualification per se, it would provide a good foundation for a student who is interested in teaching Arabic to adults at further or higher education or any other context. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
To hone communicative Arabic skills in speaking through a wide range of communicative activities.
To provide students with simulated practical ways to use their Arabic such as interpreting and presenting
To develop further students¿ ability to listen to Arabic interviews and summarise their content.
To fine tune students Arabic so that correct language is used in the correct context.

Assessment Information
Final examination (60%) (to include an Oral & Listening Component)
Two 400-word Arabic essays (10%)
One class presentation and one interpreting scenario and class-participation (10%)
E-Learning Tasks: (20%)
a) Recorded interview with a native Arab speaker about any of the themes discussed during the course (20 mins) (5%).
b) One email (200 words) in Educated Spoken Arabic (5%).
c) Regular assessed blogging activities (10%).
